GeekChic Promotions' logo has an interesting history! Back when GCP's CEO, Kris Simon, was editing titles for Image Comics, she had an editorial column that appeared in the back of the books she was responsible for editing. It was called "Kris' Korner" and a few of the creators she worked with had begun affectionately calling her Editor Girl. A tweaked version of Supergirl was created by Image Partner Jim Valentino and she appeared on the masthead of the column. The character gained in popularity and soon fan art was being submitted for a chance to appear on the masthead. Editor Girl wasn't just popular among the readers, she was also popular with some of the artists that were being published through Image at that time. Versions of Editor Girl have been drawn by Terry Moore, Jim Mahfood, Sergio Aragones, Larry Marder, Mike Mignola and more. Editor Girl even appeared in her own series called "All Girl Comics" alongside Bomb Queen, She-Spawn, Blacklight and other Image Universe heroines. GCP selected Grant Bond's version of Editor Girl as their logo, and is also proud to offer the beginning of many alternate versions of the logo on merchandise, by artist Jimmie Robinson and late artist Mike Wieringo.
